It has been a while since our last update. We have had hard half a year and have lost 30% of our trees to a coffee borer ( Hypothenemus hampei ) as well as due to an extremely dry season. This has reemphasised our dedication to implement water irrigation system as soon as possible and the works will commence at the end of April, straight after the wet season.
We have had to work extra hard to replant new seedlings, reinforce the mulch and do a lot of weeding as the weeds tend to grow extremely fast during wet season. Our coffee trees are adding on around 4cm per month and have an average height of 64cm.
This could not have been accomplished without our dedicated team and 61 villagers who were working tirelessly this month!
Please enjoy the pictures and continue to drink specialty coffee from micro-farms the same as ours all over the globe!
Good luck guys!
